Hello and a heartfelt welcome to our very first blog post!
We’re so excited to have you here as we launch our new website and open the gates—digitally, at least—to share the story of our flower farm. Whether you’re a local neighbour, a flower enthusiast, or someone who simply loves nature and beauty, we’re thrilled you’ve found us.
We’re Flower Haven Farm, a small, seasonal cut flower farm nestled in the heart of Benoni. What began as a humble dream and a patch of sunlit soil has blossomed into a working flower farm filled with rows of vibrant, seasonal fragrant blooms. From delicate snapdragons to bold sunflowers, romantic garden roses to cheerful cosmos, we grow a curated selection of flowers that reflect the beauty of the seasons.
Our journey started with a love for growing things and a desire to create something meaningful, sustainable, and beautiful. The joy of planting a tiny seed and watching it grow into something breathtaking is at the heart of everything we do. Over time, that simple joy turned into a deeper mission—to bring locally grown, chemical-free flowers to our community and to promote slow, thoughtful floristry that honours nature’s rhythm.
Our approach is rooted (no pun intended!) in organic and regenerative growing practices. We believe that farming should work with the land, not against it. That’s why we grow without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides, encourage pollinators, compost everything we can (busy setting this up now), and treat the soil as the living foundation it is. Our flowers are seasonal, fresh, and thoughtfully harvested with care and love.
This blog will be a space for sharing what’s happening on the farm—from planting schedules to harvest stories, flower variety spotlights, bouquet-making tips, and the occasional mishap (because farming, like life, is never perfect). We want to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the beauty and the hard work that goes into growing flowers from seed to stem.
We also hope this becomes a space for community. We’ll keep you updated on what’s blooming, how you can get your hands on our flowers—through farm stands, bouquet subscriptions, or local events—and ways to connect with us. Whether you’re looking to send a thoughtful gift, start your own flower patch, or simply enjoy the beauty of the seasons, we’re here to share it with you.
Thank you for stopping by and being part of this new chapter with us. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to grow together.
With gratitude and petals,
